Gallery of Fluid Motion

NOTE: Gallery of Fluid Motion submissions are distinct from a regular poster presentation, and should not be confused with the new student poster competition. Technical posters without significant artistic content are recommended to be submitted as an abstract to a regular poster session, instead of the Gallery of Fluid Motion.

About the Gallery

The Gallery of Fluid Motion consists of posters and videos submitted by attendees illustrating the science - and very often also the beauty - of fluid motion. Both computational and experimental entries are encouraged. Poster and video entries must not duplicate one another.

A panel will select outstanding entries based on artistic value, scientific content, and originality. The winning entries will be displayed at the Annual APS Meeting in March 2013 and will appear in Physics of Fluids. The top three winners in each category will be presented the Milton van Dyke Award, consisting of a small monetary prize, a copy of the Album of Fluid Motion, and an award certificate.

The contributions will be displayed in the Foyer outside of Ballroom 20D on the upper level of the San Diego Convention Center (see floorplan). The award-winning entries will be announced on Tuesday November 20th 2012 during the morning coffee break.
